| The
love of glass often begins with an elegant functional form. Learn
the fundamentals of glass fusing and slumping as you create your
own vessels and plates. Students will learn to cut and assemble
glass designs that will be kiln fired and then sagged into molds.
Color and design options will be explored. All materials, use of
tools, and kiln firings are included. This class is essential for
beginners and beneficial for those with some glass experience that
would like to expand their knowledge in this area. |

the Light: Dynamic Design for Fused Glass |
| The transmission of light is an essential element of
glass design. Other design options such as opacity, transparency,
line, form, and texture are some of the many aspects of kilnformed
glass to be explored. Class projects considered range from functional
art such as vessels, tiles and light fixtures, to wall art and sculpture.
This class is a natural follow-up to Art of the Vessel. Designers
in all media are encouraged to see the possibilities of kilnformed
glass in this design intensive class. All materials, use of tools,
