Résumé

Glass has always fascinated me, and my interest has become a serious creative pursuit in the new millennium. My training under the guidance of Kari Minnick (Meltdown Glass Studio, Millennium Arts Center, Washington DC, and Kari Minnick Art Glass Studio, Silver Spring, MD) soon led me to explore the frontiers of working in warm glass, including with Judith Conway, Richard LaLonde, David Leatherbarrow and Kevin Toole at the Vitrum Studio in Beltsville, MD.

My pieces are created and shaped by fusing layers of different colors of fine glass, sometimes with metal or organic elements, at up to 1,500° F in an electric kiln in multiple firings. My designs are often inspired by the glory and splendor of nature — its innumerable acts of random beauty!

My work has found strong resonance, including in juried shows:

I was born and raised in southwestern Germany near the Black Forest. I came to the USA in 1980/81 for studies, and returned in 1983 to settle in Washington DC. I travel frequently overseas, always returning with lots of inspirations. Not least my husband and his native India have given me courage to use color — unabashedly!
