I have been involved with the arts community for over 30 years now.  During this time I owned the "Collector Art Gallery & Restaurant" on Dupont Circle in Washington, DC.  From there I opened the 45,000 square foot gallery, "Art on the 7th Floor" at the Washington Design Center.  These two experiences plus others taught me that there is an abundance of artistic talent out there that isn't being tapped. Everywhere I travel I see artists whose work deserves a larger audience than it's getting. Locally, I've seen artists being displaced from their studios because of reconstruction or high rents. To answer these challenges I've had a dream that is now finally being realized.

We are able to provide an  arts center that can provide affordable, permanent studios and exhibit space for those artists who might not have the opportunity otherwise to reach a larger audience. In turn, it gives residents and visitors to the nation's capital an opportunity to see artwork that is being produced all over the United States and the world.

Keep an eye on our web site for the new exhibit opportunities that will be coming throughout the year. We will also keep you updated as to the special events that will be occurring at MAC as we grow.

And, finally, but most importantly, welcome to what I consider to be your arts center.
